Overview
Mounting brackets are structural attachment points manufactured from heavy-section mild steel and distributed across the AVL-DMP plant frame to anchor conveyor idler sets, motor-gearbox mounts, chute supports, sensor housings, and auxiliary equipment. Each bracket is designed and positioned to transfer static and dynamic loads safely into the main structural frame, ensuring that component alignments are maintained under the vibration and thermal cycling inherent in continuous asphalt production.
Avelta supplies mounting brackets as individual replacement units or as application-specific kits matched to the customer's plant model. They are available in the original welded-fabricated form, with corrosion-resistant primer-and-enamel or hot-dip galvanised finishes to suit tropical, coastal, or high-humidity site conditions.
Function
Mounting brackets transmit the weight and operational loads of mounted equipment into the structural frame without flex or fatigue failure. Misaligned or cracked brackets cause rapid bearing and coupling wear in downstream equipment; a correctly rated, properly welded bracket holds alignment tolerances through tens of thousands of operating hours. Ignoring bracket integrity is one of the most common causes of recurring, apparently unrelated drive and conveyor failures on ageing plants.
Construction & quality
Fabricated from IS 2062 Grade B / ASTM A36 equivalent structural mild steel plate and section. Plate thickness ranges from 8 to 25 mm depending on load duty. Machined bolt-face pads are milled flat to ±0.2 mm to ensure square seating of motor and gearbox feet. Fillet welds are full-penetration or partial-penetration per load classification; weld quality is visually inspected and, on structural grades, magnetic-particle tested. Standard finish is a two-coat epoxy primer with polyurethane topcoat; hot-dip galvanising (85 µm minimum) is available on request for coastal or tropical service.
When to replace
- Visible cracks at weld toes or in the heat-affected zone, particularly at re-entrant corners
- Elongated or ovalled bolt holes allowing perceptible component shift under load
- Pronounced rust pitting that has reduced cross-section wall thickness by more than 20%
- Noticeable flexing or vibration of mounted equipment that was previously stable
- Drive or conveyor misalignment that cannot be corrected by shim adjustment alone
Compatibility & fitment
Avelta mounting brackets are dimensioned to match bolt patterns and load ratings on AVL-DMP plants from 60 TPH to 200 TPH; OEM-spec and cross-fit replacement brackets are supplied to match the customer's specific unit drawing.
Why buy from Avelta
Avelta mounting brackets are plasma- or flame-cut to drawing, with CNC-milled seating faces and full welding traceability. This ensures a drop-in fit and reliable load transfer from the first day of operation.
