Loading and Filling
Bitumen is transferred from a road tanker or storage tank into the AVL-BPD vessel through the rear-mounted fill coupling using the on-board centrifugal transfer pump, rated at 400 l/min. A sight glass and tank-level gauge confirm fill volume before the loading valve is closed and the coupling capped.

Heating to Operating Temperature
The direct-fire diesel burner ignites automatically under digital thermostat control and heats the binder through immersed heating coils until the set operating temperature — typically 150–180 °C for penetration-grade bitumen — is reached and stabilised to within ±2 °C. Full-Circulation Priming
