Overview

The Avelta Dryer-Mixer Drum Unit (AVL-DU) is the heating and mixing heart of a drum-mix asphalt plant: a horizontal rotating drum on trunnion rollers, fired by a burner-blower at one end, that dries and heats the aggregate and folds in the bitumen to make hot mix. Supplied as a complete unit on its own base frame with riding rings, girth gear, drive and discharge housing — a direct replacement or upgrade for any DM-series plant.

Rugged plain-steel Indian build with induction-hardened running surfaces and a reliable burner.

Working Principle

How the Dryer-Mixer Drum Unit works

Feed

Cold aggregate enters the raised end of the rotating drum.

Dry & heat

The burner fires down the drum, drying and heating the aggregate as flights cascade it.

Mix

Bitumen is injected and folded into the hot aggregate in the mixing zone.

Discharge

Finished hot mix leaves the lower end into the discharge housing.
